Upper limit in Information Design Tool (SAP BI 4)

Hi All,

We are using the Information design tool to build our universe and provide the reports to users.

We have various subject areas to be reported and they are reported against various time references too.

We already have around >1000 objects in the universe and numerous joins in a specific business layer view. We haven;t faced any performance problem till now, as we have exadata database accessed in the backend.

And now we are creating another business layer view to depict different set of data but it has common dimensions with the first business layer view. We have conformed dimensions and maintain the same with context.

I wanted to know the following:

1. Is there any upper limit for the number of objects (dimensions/measures) to be created in the Universe/business layer view?

2. Is there any upper limit on the number of Aliases/database tables inserted into a single data foundation layer?

3. Is there any upper limit on the contexts created in the universe?

Please provide your inputs!!

Best Regards,

Kavitha

There is no upper limit for number of objects/tables/context in universe.

Might be you can think is there any need get the data in single report from both schema.if yes then you can add in the same.

If these two are going to be independent  reporting then there is no need to club everything in the single universe.

Too many objects make the universe hard for end users and maintenance prospective.
