The location of saplogon.ini file

Dear colleagues,

I would like to add temporarily a new SAP system to my SAP logon pad.

The problem is that current saplogon.ini file is managed centrally from a directory where users have no change access.

I need to find out how to point for another saplogon.ini file from my Desktop for example to be able to add a new SAP system.

I remember there is another SAP file that determined the place from where the .ini file is read.

Thank you!

Hello Paulo,

My default, the file is located in %appdata%\Roaming\SAP\Common

This can be changed from the SAPlogon -> Options -> SAP Logon Options ->  "Local Configuration Files", and specify a location for the logon.ini

Best Regards,

Jude

Hi Paulo, if this really is a one time sort of thing then you could build yourself a SAP Shortcut file (.sap file).

This file can be created/edited with notepad with the following content:

[System]

Name=XYZ

Client=001

GuiParm=/M/msghostofXYZ.mydomain.com/S/3601/G/GROUP1

[User]

Language=EN

[Function]

Command=SMEN

Type=Transaction

[Configuration]

[Options]

Where XYZ is the SID

msghostofXYZ.mydomain.com is the hostname of the systems message server

3601 is message server port

GROUP1 is Logon Group

There are host based options that I do not have at hand at the moment.

If SNC is enabled this could be included too.

The empty configuration sections are needed for the GUI to accept the format.

Have fun,

Lutz

Start SAP logon (not SAP logon pad)

Path on X64 Systems:

C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\saplogon.exe
