Remove components from Retail material in MM42

Hello,

I have created a material by copying an existing one in transaction MM41.

The old material had components (which I did not want in the new material), therefore I deleted the components in the new material (MM42).

However, in BW I am still getting an error saying that the components are missing for this new material.

Did I remove the components well???

How can I do to make a correct components removal?

Thank you

Hi Marques,

What was the article category of the old article and newly copied article? Do you want the new article is single or structured?

Also when you copy article using explicit reference in MM41, you could have removed the component during creation only before saving the new article.

Check your article BOM in CS02 also and remove the components if you see them there.

Let us know about these details to guide you further.

Amit

Hi Joao

If your article category (filed MARA-ATTYP) is 10,11 or 12, you need to minatian component for them. This is the way structured articles are maintained.

To maintain BOM for the structured article you can use

MGW* (where * can be 1,2 3 etc depending on your structured article type)

Also once article is created under specific article category it can't be changed. If you have requirement of single article but have created it as structured, you can't use new article as single then.

Thanks
