Post Upgrade Problems with SCM / LiveCache

Former Member

Hi,

I recently performed an upgrade from SCM 4.0 to SCM 5.0. Everything

went on fine and the upgrade completed successfully without any error

message. But, I am going through 3 problems after my upgrade as

mentioned below:

1. When I ran the Time Series consistency check, there was an error

message about the Key Figures

2. When I tried to execute Dataview for a product for example 69999, it

throws an error message at the bottome saying "Error in BW".

3. Finally, I am not able to add the instance to the MAX DB 7.6. It

throws an error message saying "-4 instance not found".

Your timely support is highly appreciated. I have also created a message with SAP with number: 339503/2007.

Thank you.

Hello,

As you already opened the OSS message 339503/2007 for the same question on queue BC-DB-LVC-UPG. And you are SAP customer, it's the correct way to handle your problem in OSS.

You could increase the priority of the message, if the case is urgent. We will be able to logon to your system via OSS & check the reason of this issue. I recommend to continue the discussion of the problems in the open OSS messages.

Please separate the posted questions to the different message, if they are not relevant to the liveCache problems. For example, 1. & 2. problems need to be checked by APO TS application team < Component 'SCM-APO-FCS' to create the OSS message>.

Hints for number 3 posted question::

Problem: You was not able to add the instance in DBMGUI < version 7.6.>

It throws an error message saying "-4 instance not found".

< Please correct me, if I misunderstood your problem. .

-> using the DBMGUI, one has to specify a specific hostname ('localhost' or 'LChostname') when add the database. This will then use the Xserver to

connect to the DB, so make sure the Xserver is running when trying this.

-> You got message "-4 instance not found" => please run on the specified

hostname 'dbmcli -s db_enum' & check if your database instance is listed.

Run 'dbmcli -n <LC-hostname> -d <LC-name> -u control,<control> db_state' to check, if you could connect and check status of the database instance.

-> If you would like to run DBMGUI on Windows 64-bit => please see the SAP note 889251.

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
