Hi All, For Configuring the STMS in a landscape, does solution manager is required , For example : let us assume , we have one Dev system, one Quality and the third is prod system, so moving the transports from one system to other , do we require the solution manager or without using the solution manager , we can move the transports. Regards, Ankit
Hi Ankit,
You don't need solution manager as a mandatory requirement at all for controlling transports.
if you have more than 1 systems i.e 2 or 3 or x no. of system of SAP ERP(example)
you can define one system as a domain controller and this will control the transport from one system to another based upon the transport route you have configured.
Configuring TMS - Software Logistics - SAP Library
Best practices for configuring transport directory - Basis Corner - SCN Wiki
Kindly search as this a very basic concept and definitely you will get a step by step video as well.
Solution Manager is mainly used with ChaRM/QGM functionality for controlling transport for all different landscape centrally or basically automating the movement as per requirement.
Hope it clarifies.
Thanks
