Transaction SM21 Shows Connection Error - DBACockpit test successfull

Hello SAP Community,

Since we have trouble with SLT I looked in the transaction SE21 for logs and saw the error message:

Connect to the database with ID DB6_DEST failed.

This message appears every 5 seconds in the log!

However when I check the connection in the transaction DBACockpit the test to the DB Connection is successful

Which of the two is coorect / What is the problem here?

How can I solve the problem that the error message does not occur any more.

PS The Problem we have is that data provisioning does not work:

Hi Thorsten,

Looks like the db connection is not stable though showing fine in report and in cockpit.

Please go to tcode DBACOCKPIT and edit your DB connection.

And check the permanent connection checkbox.

Hello Thorsten,

Please execute the report ADBC_connection_test from SLT system to check ur hana connection, if you Data provisioning is not working it the HANA DB connection you need to look at not the self.

Please check the  HANA DB connection and revert back

How do I execute the "ADBC_connection_test from SLT system"?

1. did you mean ODBC?

2. from where do I execute the test / which transaction?

3. We use DB2 as source and traget (if it makes any difference)

Hello...

Execute the tcode sa38 --> provide the report name ADBC_Connection_test and click execute..

now provide the connection names which you want to test for DB connection and check the results

ADBC_Connection_test does not exist but we have ADBC_TEST_CONNECTION.

Executing the report results in a successful test.

Locking again in transaction SE21 for logs I do not see the log entries concerning connection errors any more. Any Idea why? (I set the date-filter to 25.05.2016 00:00 to 26.05.2016 so there are other log entries of the day but not the one in the screenshot)

Hello,

if the report is executing successfully, please do not worry about the replication. for the error msg in the sm21 tcode try to check the db user of the slt system for connectivity.

Also can u share the screen shot, or error msg for more information
