Hi,

Can I use DMO to migrate from my BW-HANA to BW-Oracle? I have done it the other way round, but not sure of migrating HANA to Oracle.

Thanks

Just a curiosity: why you want to migrate from Hana to Oracle?

Hi David, our QA and Prod is on HANA. We want to move the QA from HANA to Ora.

Many thanks Reagan. Will it be the same case for BPC/HANA to BPC/Ora? The note does not talk about BPC, Thanks again.

I also see from this Wiki (BPC on HANA - Implementation Guidelines - Enterprise Performance Management - SCN Wiki) that there is no way to DMO BPC on NW from any DB to HANA on vice versa, If DMO not be considered for this migration, would there be any ways to demote my HANA on BPC to Ora? Thanks for your help.

Hi Jim,

For BPC on HANA or anyDB, as mentioned in wiki provided, you need to choose:

1. Perform upgrade and migration seperately.

2. Fresh install and restore your BPC environment.

Thanks Ning. I understand that. My question is, is it possible to do HANA>Oracle with this procedure?

Hi Jim,

Since you want to migrate DB from HANA to Oracle for QAS system, you just need to perform heterogeneous system copy assuming that the application server level is the same between PRD and QAS.

DMO does not work in this case.

The solution here is to do a classical migration (R3load export/import) from HANA to Oracle as DMO cannot be used here.
