Hi,

Please find below some simple explanation.

WM Managed Warehouse:

Stocks are managed in quantity at storage bin level. But you don't know how it packed whether it is in box or pallet..etc. WM operator needs to take care pallet details outside system if they have.

WM-Hu Managed:

Handling unit is material+packing material. Stocks can be managed at Hu level, can see stocks for each Hu in LS26.. It means that you can do good issue or good receipt using HU number,

one of advantage of WM-HU managed as follows

  1. Suppose if you have goods receipt of 400 pcs, and  your storage bin can have capacity of 200.In WM managed, system propose one TO and one bin, it doesn't split  qty based on storage bin capacity. No palletization .In WM-HU managed, we pack goods in inbound delivery 200+200. During GR, system can propose two bins based on configuration.
  2. User can do GR/GI using RF gun by scanning HU number..etc

Disadvantage:

  1. Packing/Unpacking add extra step which user may not like.

Hops it helps

Thanks and Regards,
