Developer Workplace Installation Error

Former Member

I have reached an impasse in my installation of the Developer Workplace SR2 Preview (at step 37 of 41 . . . so close!).

I'm in the "Configure CAF" step, with the message "Configuring usage type AS-Java: (CAF UME Configuration)"

displayed in the status area. I'm receiving the following error messages . . .

can someone suggest what I can do to resolve the problem? Thanks in advance!

Mark et al.,

I discovered that I had a port conflict that was causing this error. When I started the SCS installation it told me that I did not have the rdisp/msserv_internal parameter set, so I set to port 50000, which turned out to be the http port that the java instance was on. I set the parameter to port 3900 (39 + insnace number of CI ) and the installation is continuing normally.

Feel free to award any points if this helps.

Hello everyone,

I have good news... I finally find the solution to my problem!

The IBM JDK 1.4.2 for AIX was buggy and required us to patch it to the very latest version.

The version we previously had, was :

java full version "J2RE 1.4.2 IBM AIX 5L for PowerPC (64 bit JVM) build caix64142-20070317 (SR8)"

The version we are now running, is :

java full version "J2RE 1.4.2 IBM AIX 5L for PowerPC (64 bit JVM) build caix64142ifx-20070509 {SR8 SAP ifix: 119818}"

Hope this will help you!

Cheers,

Xavier
