HI all,
I have installed EP on oracle 10g , but since i restarted the machine , the instance is not coming up . I noticed that i was unable to login to database even and it is throwing ora 27101 error.
can anyone please help.
Hi Sara,
I missed one aspect you have mentioned that Enterprise portal is installed on the oracle , i f you follow that apporach that might create some issues .
By default, OraDim initializes ORA_SID_AUTOSTART in the registry to FALSE. Make sure ORA_SID_AUTOSTART is set to TRUE in the registry using RegEdit.exe
(Traverse the path to reach the node in the registry)
Thanx
Pankaj

Hi Sara ,
I am not sure wether this will help or not but
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Cause: Unable to locate shared memory realm
Action: Verify that the realm is accessible
So this means that services for that SID are not getting started .What you can do is
a) delete the current service - c:\> oradim -delete -sid <sid_name>
b) make sure the service has status DISABLED in Service Windows and it does not appear after refreshing the Service Windows.
If the service still appears, reboot the server.
c) create the service c:\> oradim -new -sid <sid> -startmode auto -pfile <absolute path of init.ora>
Regards
Pankaj
