Theme assignment to a role

Hi Experts,

Is there a way we can assign a theme to a role for SAP Fiori? We have a requirement where the customer is asking for a separate theme for a particular role. Is this possible?

Regards,

Arthur.

Hi,

Try below workaround:

Suppose two different themes then create two different themes. Example "theme ID1" and "theme ID2". respective user groups provide different urls as below.

User group1:

<FIORI URL >?sap-theme=<theme ID1>@<theme root1>

User group2:

<FIORI URL>?sap-theme=<theme ID2>@<theme root2>

if your are using FIORI Client application. Hard code the url and bulid two client apps and disturb to respective user groups.

Thanks,

Lakshman Balanagu.

Just out of curiosity, what is the business need behind the client's request?

It is very common for users to have more than one Fiori role(Purchasing + HCM etc.). How does the business want the application theming to work in such a case?

Cheers,

Abhinav

You can assign a global to the Fiori launchpad or to individual Fiori apps. I am not aware (and don't think it is possible) to assign themes to PFCG Fiori roles.

You can open your role in the transaction PFCG on the gateway server and navigate to the Menu tab. If you are in edit mode, click on the small icon on the button Transaction - this will open a list of the possible objects that you can map with the role. Here you can map Fiori Tile Catalog, Fiori Tile Group etc. but there is no option for assigning theme. Hence themes cannot be assigned to PFCG roles.

For reference on different ways to assign theme to the launchpad, refer this blog -
