Amount/percent field in Condition Type

Hello All,

there is a field "Amount/percent" in the condition type maintenance (V/06).

what is the functionality/significance of this field? can you please explain with a practical example?

What if this field is ticked and what when it is not ticked?

I have already searched in forums but not got answer to my exact query.
