Condition Type: If existing condition type meets the requirement, we need not create a new condition type. Considering the requirement for new condition type, the configuration will be done in spro as follows: IMG --> Sales & Distribution --> Basic Function --> Pricing Control --> Condition Type. It is always recommended to copy an existing similar condition type & make the neccessary changes. Here we assign Access sequence to Condition type.

hi...

just make sure that SAP when they do any new development will not overwrite the custom functionality we developed. Our custom functionality is named by Y and Z so that SAP will leave them and do any changes required in the other letters only.

Pl reward if useful.

Thanks

Hi Pannala,

Assume you created a condtion type as G999 to meet a customer requirement in version 4.6C. Now in ECC5.0 lets say SAP came up with their own development and named a condition type as G999. If your customer upgrades to ECC5.0 you would lose your customized configuration as it would be overwritten by SAP's development.

In order to overcome this issue, it is an understanding that any customized objects should start with Y or Z. Hence today, objects created by a consultant would start with Y or Z and objects created by SAP would start with any other character apart from Y or Z.

Guess it's cleared your doubt. Do reward if so.

All the custom development should follow the naming convention, that is start with Y or Z. Other letters used by SAP.

Hi.,

It is the guidelines of SAP , So when we start with Y or Z then we can know that these are developed by consultants and these are not standard ones, And it is also not mandatory to start with Y or Z ,Its just for our convinience we do
