Material Determination in Variant Configurable material

Hello All

I have a situation

In Sales order VA01 I am entering a Configurable material. when i enter a configurable material system explodes components in the sales order according selected Characteristics.

Now after selecting characteristics, after system derives all the components, system should replace one of the components with another material which i maintained in Material determination. But System not replacing that.

in VA01 after deriving materials from Characteristics: Item categories are

Main Config Material is TAC and other components are TAE.

My Super BOM is maintained with Classses not with Materials.

I want to replace TAE item category Material not TAC material.

Replace the Component material

Please give me some suggestion.

If it is a regular BOM, Material Determination is working fine, but when i am configuring in Sales order using Characteristics, when actual material is deriving system is not replacing or material determination is not working.

Have you tried by activating analysis for material determination before creating SO?

Hope you will get some clue here..
