SAP License Expires On ##.##.####

Former Member

Hi

We have a legacy SAP system, and users that login get: "Logon not possible (error in license check)."

As SAP* user, I enter the Old License Key details as I downloaded it from the SAP website, which it accepts:

But the system shows the license expires on date as "##.##.####", and users still get the same error when logging on:

Downloaded license file also attached, it only accepts the one LKEY.

Kindly advise.

Hi

Thanks for the responses.

I restarted the server, and had a look at the SAP notes.  I deleted and re-imported the license, still same issue.

The hardware key on the SAP website is different than the "Active Hardware Key"  1st post, would this be the reason?

Thanks

Yes this seems to be the issue then, you will have to update the Active Hardware Key at the market place, generate the license again and then apply the same.

Hi Willem.

You can update the active hardware key in SAP portal and get the new license. Update the same.

Hi,

You can edit the license with correct hardware key.

Save it and then try to import it.

This may help in this case.

Thanks,

Hi

Thanks, this worked.

Updated the active hardware key in SAP portal, and then imported the license.

Hi Willem,

You did not inform about the operating system you are using.

1. Anyway, go to OS level and check the license status.

Command is (for Unix)

saplikey pf=<Instance profile> -show

https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/c3/e84ae90d9d427e92b0ceb69292ef4f/content.htm

It should show you the license status:

N. License Key:

------------------------------------------

System :

Hardware Key :

Software Product :

Software Product Limit :

Type of License Key :

Installation Number :

System Number :

Begin of Validity :

End   of Validity :

Last successful check :

Validity : Valid

------------------------------------------

N license keys listed

2. If the license looks valid, then please stop the system, kill all <SID>adm process, cleanipc, and then startup.

Please let us know.

Sujit K Banerjee.

Hi Willem,

Delete all old license and then use the Install New License option and select the license file which you have attached in this message and would have received from SAP market place after giving the system details.

Thanks,

Manas
