Checking min - max quantities via variant configuration

Can anybody tell me if it is possible to check min-max quantities of items of a sales order bom during order entry via variant configuration?

Customer is using BOM's for sales bundles and wants to restrict component quantities against min and max values, preferably by reusing existing BOMs

You can change BOM item quantity with the help of reference characteristic. Check out the below link and reply with your complete scenario.
