Dear Members,
I have created Project Structure with Internal Activity, External/Service Activity and Cost Activity. Activities were linked and also performed schedule.
During Project release, we have created Project Version so Base Line dates were copied and available for comparison. Now, my team want to know how they can update project schedule for these activities, so that we can know about delays and lags for activities.
I am not aware about how project schedule will be updated in PS for internal, external, service and cost activities.
Kindly, guide me for same to update the project schedule.
Regards
Rajat
Dear Members,
Thank you for inputs.
My query is how to update the schedule? Means one I do scheduling and start project execution, we need to update these schedule, so that we can find any delays or lags in project.
Like how I can
- In case of Internal Activity....when activity is started and when its expected to finished? ...
- In case of external activity/service activity...When services activity is started and when its finished....
- In case I want to know by how many days/months my project is delayed..how we can do it...

Hi Rajat,
You need to update the dates for the activities.
Like Forecast dates can be used for your planning. Basic dates can be used for performing or in progress activities, Actual date will provide actual completion.
You can use Relationships / Milestone to begin the next activity, also based on confirmation you can update.

Dear Maria,
Thanks for reply.
My query is how to update this date. Is automatic and manual?
Like when we create NWA and relation ship and WBS date planning, dates like basic date for WBS and Earliest/latest date for NWA will be updated automatically.
Now, project execution is started and its business practice that every 15 days we need to update dates. So, in such case, which dates we will update and how we will update?...if I understood correctly SAP Help...
....Dates for Internal Activities will be consider from confirmation. But, what about dates which will be consider for completion of balance work. where we need to updates?
....What about start date for external and service activity....where i need to mentioned and update this dates?
Hope I am able explain my concerns and requirement.
Regards
Rajat
Hi,
All you have to do is to refer to help.sap.com site where in all details are provided.
for your information as of now to carryout project scheduling
1>You have to have relationships for all the activities, duration maintained in it
2>Get the base version of the activities,
3>Start completion of the activities by confirmation.when the confirmation is carried out you get the end date of the activity.
4>Go to project builder ,select the project definition in the structure tree and then go to tab Edit-->Dates-->Schedule or CTRL+9
entire project is scheduled

Hi Rajat,
Project Version is functionality to create a copy of Project structure and later on user can compare these. these versions are created according to Status or we can create manually also.
Whereas Project scheduling is different where we can plan dates according to Plan to execute different activities. for this you can check SAP Help for detailed explaination.
thanks

Hello,
If you are referring to Project versions , then you need to create project versions (CN72) and use the standard version reports in comparing operative parameters with baseline version.
Project scheduling is a standard PS functionality which ideally needs to happen regularly whenever any changes happens in active PS structure.
