FILE to RFC Scenario

Hi Experts,

We are having po 7.4 server.My requirement is to pick the xml file from al11 directory of ECC server (Source system).and then we are sending this file to another ECC system through PO.But to pick file from AL11 directory of ECC,what options I have to choose in FILE adapter of PO?

Kindly suggest.

• You would typically use NFS as long as there is a mounted directory between ECC and PI.
• If you do not have this, you would need to use a FTP / SFTP Connection..

Hi Aditi,

you can use the File adapter to pick the file from SAP ECC AL11 directory. you can use the pass-through scenario without any ESR object to transfer file from one SAP AL11 directory to another SAP AL11 directory.

I want to use udf in message mapping.

So,I cant use pass-through scenario for my requirement.

Hi Aditi,

Opening a FTP connection to your ECC system is not recommended and it is highly insecure to do it. Hence strong suggestion is to go with either NFS or SFTP.

NFS is very easy, your network team must mount the ECC directory in your PI system and hence you can use the same in your channel.

SFTP is most preferred, for which you need to do some extra configuration. Open Port 22, setup certificates etc.
