Hello Experts,
After we have updated Microsoft office to 2016 , All are facing problem with integration of SAP to edit the text .
We have found SAP Note : 2237407 - Use of MS Word 2016 as SAPscript editor.
"This correction consists of an ABAP correction that can be implemented via transaction SNOTE and a new MS Word template Word2007template.dotm in the BDS that is delivered only with a Basis Support Package as standard.
This template is used by MS Word 2007, 2010, 2013, and MS Word 2016.
If you want to implement this SAP Note using transaction SNOTE, you must also manually upload the new template version for Word 2007/2010/2013/2016 to the system.
For the latest version of the file Word2007template.dotm and an upload report, see SAP Note 1091389."
But SAP note : 1091389 is valid till SAP_BASIS 710 only.
And our system is at : SAP_BASIS 740 SP12
Can anyone suggest some solution?
Hi Rahul,
I have reached out to the colleagues responsible for the notes. My guess is that the template from Note 1091389 is also valid for SAP_BASIS 740 SP12.
As soon as I get some information back, I will let you know.
Regards,
Holger.

Hello Rahul,
The note 1091389 contains the description of manual steps for upload of newest dotm template version for "MS Word as SAPscript Editor" and the required template file (in the note attachment). This note is related for all Basis Releases. (I have adjusted the validity of this note).
The note 1091389 doesn't contain any correction instructions.
For your case, the implementation of the note 2237407 will allow you to start the MS Word.
If you use the x64 Version of Office, you need to update the Word2007Template.dotm. (As described in the note 1091389).
Best regards,
Sergey

Hello Sergey,
We currently use the x32 version of Office, and are implementing note 1829008 to correct this same issue for MS Word 2013. Our system has the Word2007Template.dotm. The template shows it was installed by SAP (likely with a patch level?) back on 2010.
I've recommended that we follow the instructions in note 1091389 to load the latest version of that template, but am receiving some resistance from my project lead.
I'm pretty sure just applying 1829008 will correct our issues, but feel it is reasonable to load the latest template.. My question is... Is there a difference in the template from 2010 and the latest template?
Your insights are appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Kyle
