need suggestion

hi guys,

I knew java programming very well. At present i am on ABAP. Please suggest me some technology that help my career growth. I have known that Netweaver EP and Webdynpro ABAP will suit for ABAP programmers with Java programming knowledge. Is there any other technology which suits me better to learn and which are like hot cake in the market. Please give me suggestions.

Welcome to WebDynpro ABAP .

LEt me tell you first what is ABAP Dynpro ?

As the name suggests Web Dynpro for ABAP uses exactly the same meta model as its cousin Web Dynpro for Java. A Web Dynpro component, a Web Dynpro view, a Web Dynpro model, a Web Dynpro controller have the same semantics both for ABAP and Java. The main difference is the designtime environment, the development infrastructure and the runtime environment.

The designtime environment is properly embedded in the ABAP Workbench where Web Dynpro artifacts are simply a new category like BSP applications or classical dynpro based applications before. Also no surprises regarding the development infrastructure. The correction and transport system keeps track on all changes that are done, versions them and helps to propagate the Web Dynpro application from development to production like you would do with ordinary BSP or dynpro-based applications.

Last not least the execution platform is the ABAP server that produces application content ready to be integrated in the NetWeaver Portal seamlessly. Features like portal eventing can be used between applications written in ABAP or applications developed with Java.

Now In My View Why you can WebDynpro ABAP?

As you said you java programmer and know ABAP as well. Then WebDynpro ABAP will be good area for you as

reason1 ) WebDynpro ABAP will be promoted more at time as Handling ABAP stack with WebDynpro ABAP is easy than WD JAVA .

2 ) Similar SAP web Solutions are possible with WebDynpro ABAP like Java only Support for Mobile Devices is not yet provided by WebDynpro ABAP .

3 ) WD ABAP Uses Object Oriented ABAP as Base programming Language .

And as you are well in Java you will not find it difficult .

I would suggest that you should go for Web Dynpro JAVA. As you are good JAVA programmer then these skill sets will help you to understand Web Dynpro JAVA quickly and easily. EP is sumthng which is hot in market. And also Web Dynpro is the latest technology.

Now if you go for Web dynpro JAVA then you will utilize all your JAVA skills in this technology. Also lot of new attractive concepts are cuming up in market, such as ADOBE interactive forms. This is possible with both web dynpro JAVA and ABAP.

WebDynpro ABAP and WebDynpro JAVA is Part of Net weaver . Have you seen NetWeaver Refrgarator Diagram

In that can you see Application platform for that WebDynpro are used .

Now let me tell you where WebDynpro comes into the picture . Have you heard of Custom Developement in SAP ( With SAP NetWeaver, IT organizations can extract new value from existing investments in technology and skills. For developing such Custom Develpement are done with Dynpro (ABAP as well as Java Web Dynpro ).
