Group Currency and Company currency are the same (Parallel currency)

Hello!

I'm implementing SAP in a group of companies that its local currency is MXN; in the future they will include a company with a different local currency (USD); the group currency would be MXN, so my question is, ¿Is it correct that i customize parallel currencies, 1st local currency in MXN and the 2nd currency with the group currency? i mean, i would have 2 parallel  currencies in the same currency...

Thanks!

Hi Victor

Technically, no issues as such

But check with your Group what currency would they like the Consolidated reporting in? MXN or USD?

That should drive the choice for Group Currency..

Regardless of your choice about GC, one of the Companies wiill have LC1=LC2

Thanks Ajay. I talk with the Financial Manager, and as you said, they really do not know wich currency they will choise as their Group Currency, in a short time (5 years) they wont have a consolidation process, so we are going to let just the Local currency.

Thanks for the advice!

Hello Victor,

Greeting of the day,

Yes you should keep the group currency as MXN and proceed.

System will not give an error  (for MXN company) and it will store both the currencies.

Translation will not have any affect for this company.

Regards
