SAP PI - ALRTCATDEF - No Data Maintenance Authorization

Hi All,

I am working in Production Support Project.

Now my requirement is to edit the Alert Category and I need to maintain my user in Fixed recipients.

When I try to edit the list, it is showing like No data maintenance authorization; display only

Any one please help me which I role need to edit the Recipients List?

Hi Vishnu,

• Normally we dont maintain the alert categories in production client
• You need to edit the alert rules in development and transport to production
• Better to give the role instead of fixed user name in the recipients list in the alert category, for example assign the role SAP_XI_SUPPORT to the alert rule then whoever got this role they will receive the alerts.
• If you give your user name if  you left the company they need to manually remove the user again from the alert rule, if you maintain the role then no need to change the alert rule again. PI support people will get the alerts.

So we need to give this role SAP_XI_SUPPORT in Recipients via user roles in ALRTCATDEF transaction right?

and the user should have that role to get alerts right?

Hi Vishnu,

Assign the role SAP_XI_ALERT_CONSUMER to receive the alerts.

• Yes you just need to add the role under Recipients Via User Roles button

• And you need to add this role to the user.

This role required to receive alerts if you configure CBMA alerts not old alert framework based alerts.

1. Can consult with the Security team or
2. Do an auth. trace using ST01 or get the missing object via SU53.
