Hi everyone,
We are in a SAP S4/HANA project, implementing the Project System module.
I regards to the revenue recognition, we are considering several methods (e.g. POC (Percentage of completion) and WIP (Work in process)).
We need help understanding if it is possible to have several revenue recognition methods for the same project?
It is also possible to post the result in two different ledger based on the different methods (e.g Ledger 1 - WIP; Ledger 2- POC)?
Thank you,
Hi Mariana,
You can have two different methods for different ledgers on the same WBS. That is a normal scenario in multi GAAP environment.
This is the case for ECC, and I´d assume in S/4 HANA functionality is at least on the same level as in the older system.

Paulo

Hi Mariana,
You will have two RA methods behind the same RA key in different RA versions. Both RA versions need to post into Financial Accounting.
Ledgers, as I remember, you create as Ledger Groups and map those with Accounting Principles, next in the posting rules you configure per Accounting Principle in the OKG8.
Cumprimentos,
Paulo
You can have 2 different methods within the same project, but hey have to be on 2 different WBS elements. They can both be at the same level or not.
RA runs on a WBS that has a RA Key. RA aggregates all objects below the WBS that do not have RA Keys. If a lower level WBS has a RA Key it is not considered in the upper WBS RA calculations.

Hi Mariana,
as you have only one field for RA and POC calculation you cannot use two methods simultaneously in a project for calculation..
