Is there a way to (audit trail or log) track changes that are done to custom attributes in IS4.2 please.
Yes, but not in the UI.
The IS repository will version these components. The current version can be found in the view MMB_CUSTOM_FIELD_VALUE (custom attribute value) and MMB_CUSTOM_FIELD (custom attribute details). These have respective tables that contain all versions (they start with MMT rather than MMB).

Good question, but at least i did not manage to find such option in standard IS interface, thus my answer is No you can not.
All these objects are stored (at least) their metadata is stored in repository, so from SQl point of view there are notes about them in DB, but the question is - do we have timestamp there?
Maybe someone from SAP team can share more deep analysis?
