New field to the Field Catalog

Hi Experts,

We are trying to add a new field (Purchase order type - BSARK) to the field catalog (Output Sales) and we understood that for the new field to be available in the field catalog, it needs to be added to the communication structures. Since it is related to 'Output Sales' field catalg, it implies that the new field (i.e. BSARK) needs to be appended to the communication structure (KOMB or KOMKBV1 or KOMKBV2).

Once the filed is available in the Field catalog, a new condition table will be created in the system with the following fields.

Condition Table : Sales Org/ Distribution Channel / Division / Sales Order Type / Purchase Order Type

However, we are struggling to understand as to which structure (KOMB or KOMKBV1 or KOMKBV2) should the field be appended to? What are the fundamentals here? Could you please help us in understanding this.

Hi Himanshu,

From which process will you trigger your output? Sales, Delivery or Billing? If it's sales (V1), your header structure is KOMKBV1. If it's delivery (V2), your header structure is KOMKBV2.

You say that condition table will have key fields as "Sales Org/ Distribution Channel / Division / Sales Order Type / Purchase Order Type", so from my understanding this output should be triggered from V1 application. Your structure is KOMKB1.

You should not directly append this structure. There are standard appended structures here for this purpose. For KOMKB1, KOMKBZ3 is your structure. Try appending this.

Thanks for finding time in answering my question.

Initially we had added the field only to the structure KOMB. This enabled the field PO Type to be added to the field catalog and we had successfully created the condition table (Sales Org/ Distribution Channel / Division / Sales Order Type / Purchase Order Type), but then later we learnt that while adding the new condition table to the access sequence, the field (PO type) couldn't be assigned as it was not available in the structure KOMKBV1 or KOMPBV1. Hence we had to add the field to the structure KOMKBV1 and after that it could be successfully assigned to the access sequence.
