Could not delete file after processing - NFS Directory mount across SAP and PI

Hi Experts,

We have configured our NFS file channel to pick a file from the directory location in SAP which is NFS mounted across SAP and PI servers.

But, while processing the file we are getting the below error which suggests that there might be a folder access issue-

Now Unix team is asking which user needs to be given the full permission to the directory location and if this is to be given in SAP or in PI server since the location is directory mounted.

Can anyone please guide on which user is involved in this delete activity and whether the access has to be provided in SAP or PI Unix server.

Regards,

Karthik

Hello Karthik,

I dont think any roles are required here.

Ensure the file is deletable.

777 should be deletable

Hi Karthik,

Refer to a thread , it discusses similar issue (just not with write access, but with read access). Generally speaking, corresponding OS level user (SAPService<SID> in Windows, <sid>adm in Unix/Linux) shall be granted proper permissions for the directory from where PI polls files. In case of files polling and further deletion, read (for file polling) and write (for file deletion) permissions shall be granted (execute permission is not necessary), so your colleagues from Unix team can avoid assigning too extensive full permissions (777), but keep them restricted.

Vadim
