Hello

you can use Q – the easy Installer for SAP IQ to install IQ on Azure or on other Hyperscaler based on Linux or Red Hat without any Problems. the tools of course also works on-premise based Linux VM's.

Stick to Mark's Answer. as there is no difference in Supporting VM's anywhere there are no obstacles

Best Regards Roland

Support?  Yes.  Certified?  No.

IQ supports at the OS level.  So long as you are running an OS that IQ supports, then it is a supported install.

Certified takes it a bit further in that it can mean that we will supply tools, scripts, etc for a seamless Azure process.  That is not there yet.  Basically, you would deploy an OS that we support.  From there, you would have to do the installation and configuration.  No different, really, than if you bought a machine and had it in your data center.

Mark, is there a plan for certification in the future on Azure (and/or other hyperscalers)?

No there are no plans to 'certify' a particular hyperscalar for SAP IQ installations. Hyperscalars are one type of virtualized environment and the SAP IQ documentation contains a statement on support for Virtualized Environments: https://help.sap.com/viewer/babc68c45543429eb0a58d26ee4adc78/16.1.4.2/en-US/e68019b420244c7fb399a9f2...

What is planned is to provide a cloud service for SAP IQ as part of SAP HANA Cloud Services as announced in this news item back in November: https://news.sap.com/2019/11/sap-ase-sap-iq-next-generation/
