Charm - "No maintenance cycle is open for the current system"

Private_Member_19084

Hello,

we want to setup Charm in Solution Manager 7.1.

Now on creating a normal change I get the error "No mainetnance cycle is open for the current system".

I've checked already the ibase and also smsy, however I can't really find the problem.

Maybe somebody has an advice for me....

Thank you

Hi Anon,

you need to have a project with a valid maintenance cycle. To configure, go to transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN. If you already have, you probably didn't change the phase of the maintenance cycle or unlocked the tasks in the tasklist (tcode SCMA, choose tasklist of the project, rightclick on a group und choose unlock for general and track actions).

Edit: for Details, see here: and here:

Hello Thorben,

I have a valid project and also did unlock the tasks....

Therefore I am a bit confused at the moment.

Kind regards

I've created now again the project (solar_project_admin) and released the system.

however I still get the same error.

Quote of above mentioned link:

17. Error "No maintenance cycle is opened for the current system"

When creating a normal correction or urgent correction (or setting it from "Created" to "In development"), the customer receives error "No maintenance cycle is opened for current system." (SOCM_ACTION_LOG011).

Possible reasons are:

- The IBase is wrong: The IBase/component must represent the production system in the project landscape.

- Lack of authorizations: Assign role "SAP_SOCM_ADMIN" or "SAP_CM_ADMINISTRATOR_COMP" (or equivalent) to the user who would like to approve the change request.

- Project is locked in table /TMWFLOW/PROJMAP: If an error is detected during the processing, then the project might be locked in this table. The customer can unlock it by pressing the refresh button under tab "System Landscape" -> "Change Requests". If there are other error messages shown during the refresh process, the customer must fix those errors beforehand.

P.S. The 'Check' button under tab 'Change Requests' (the same as transaction /TMWFLOW/CHARMCHK) will only do the checking. On the other hand, the 'Refresh' button will do the checking and update the relevant database entries.

Did you check all that?

Also, how about duplicate entries in SMSY / LMDB (or entries with '000001') ?

Which SP-Level is your Solution Manager?

Hello Thorben,

yes I've already checked this.

I am pretty sure, that the ibase is wrong.
However, to be honest, I don't really know how to set it up correctly.

I have done ib_gen for the relevant system.

In smsy I have assigned the correct sid.

I've already removed the logical component and did build it new.

How can I check the lmdb, if it is correct?

Do you have some guidelines regarding ibase/lmdb/charm relevance?

Kind regards

Hello Anand,

I also think that the ibase isn't correct, but I have no idea how to check it.

Is there a guide how the ibase have to be setup correctly for charm?

Hello Anand,

I've done now this note.

Solman_setup is now fine.

However, on creating a ticket I still get the error.

Do I haev to create the project again or do some activities in smsy again, so that it shows effect?

Kind regards

Anon,

First try with SAP_ALL authorization if this does not work. Please check following comments from Dolers blog.

Did you implement the ChaRM-Master Note for your SP-Level? (for example for SP12 https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/1969707/E)

Which SP-Level is your SolMan?

It is 8. Yes the master note is current one.

In Development system it works, therefore it can't be a bug I think.
