Hi,
in My scenarion JDBC is the receiver.
i am using following parameters
Driver: com. microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
Connection: jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://10.248.87.135 \YYYY:PORT;DatabaseName=XXXXXX;
could you pls tell me connection format is correct.

And also the respective driver is installed or not.
Yes correct , but instead of giving the IP address try to checkwith the server/host name: port
