With copy control we can specify for a particular sales document type, which document type is to be assigned to copied reference documents, and which item categories or schedule line categories are to be copied.
You must also make specifications for copying requirements and data transfer, as well as quantity and value updates in document flow. This must be done for each copying procedure at header, item and, if necessary, schedule line level on a detail screen.
In SD make sure to maintain copy control for the following areas:
Sales documents
Deliveries
Billing documents
In sales, you can find copy controls for:
Sales document by sales document
Billing document by sales document
In deliveries, you can find copy controls for:
Sales document by delivery
In billing, you can find copy controls for:
Sales document by billing document
Delivery by billing document
Billing document by billing document
The transacation codes for copy controls are
VTLA order type to delivery type
VTAA order type to order type
VTFL delivery type to billing doc type
VTFA order type to billing doc type
VTFF billing doc type to billing doc type
VTAF billing doc type to order type (example would be Returns).
Please reward me.
Thanks
Rajesh

Simply put, copy controls transfers what the data/information on one document to another document.
You can do copy control from:
Sales document to sales document (Contract/Quotation to Standard order)
Billing document to sales document (Invoice to debit memo request/credit memo request)
Billing document to billing document (F2 to IV)
and so on.
Reward points if helpful...

Hello Santosh,
The copy controls regulate which types of documents can be used together. One document type will be the source and another type will be the target.
The transcodes for copy controls are (the basics)
VTLA order type to delivery type
VTAA order type to order type
VTFL delivery type to billing doc type
VTFA order type to billing doc type
VTFF billing doc type to billing doc type
VTAF billing doc type to order type (example would be Returns).

Hi
Using copy controls we can the data for one doc. to another.
Ex: Slae doc--->sales doc.: VTAA
sales order to delivery: VTLA
delivery to billing: VTFL
billing to sales doc.:VTAF
billing to billing: VTFF
sale doc. to billing.: VTFA
It contains
Data transfer routines such as header item and conditions and copying requirements.
Cheers
Govind.
