CCMS Last successful Backup Status False Alert

Former Member

Hello,

We are using CCMS to monitor our Database backup Status everyday.

But recently I have found that CCMS does not show the correct results for the Last Successful Backup Node.

SAP CCMS Monitor Templates --> Database --> DB2 Universal Database for NT/UNIX --> Backup/restore -->database backup --> last successful backup

This last successful backup always shows the message that "The last Database backup is current"

But when I checked the backup status using DBACOCKPIT or DB12 transaction, the last backup was failed.

Please let us know how to solve this standard sap CCMs bug?

Regards,

Eswaran

Hello,

it looks like there is a parameter which has been set to check the Threshold for last successsful backup.

For an example if the last 15 days backup are failed, then I might get the Red Alert.

Does anyone knows about this Threshold settings in CCMS for Last Successful backup?

Hello Everyone,

For your information:

Under DBACOCKPIT --> Alerts --> Alert Configuration --> we can set the Threshold for Database Backup Alerts.

Normal State condition and Warning Condition works perfectly as per Design.

But there are problems with Error Condition Threshold settings.

When I try to set the Error Threshold as  below:

Error if the last successful backup is "Greater than or Equal to" 2 days,

then I could not save the configuration and it throws the error message. 'can not be saved'. (no more information found)

Can anyone test this in your systems and provide me the solution for this Alert Configuration for Last Succuessful Backup.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Eswaran,

I have exactly the same problem than you.

Could I know how you solved the problem when saving the new threshold value in Alert Configuration?

Thank you very much in advance.

Kind regards,

I have setup like this.

Normal State Condition

within  0:2

Warning Condition:

greater than 2

Error Condition:

smaller than 0

Other setting I have not explored as this current settings serves the purpose.

But please post here in case you have found some other solution.
