SAP Software update manager(SUM) Issue

Hi Team,

I am trying to use SUM to deploye Identity management on AS Java

Steps performed are mentioned below

1. Server came up succesfull without arrors, i ran STARTUP.BAT with SIDADM and it ran succesfully.

2. Now i tried starting gui from /usr/sap/smd/sum/startgui

It pops up software delivery tool and when tried connecting it on 4239 it throwed below errior

I can see telnet results are passing on both the ports i.e 4239 and d241

.Version SUM: SUM10SP16_7

AS JAVA: SAP Netweaver 7.4

Database: MxDb.

please help us in resolving that issue.

Hi All,

The issue is resolved, Actually in SUM SP16, the procedure has been changed

and the url to start gui is replaced by

STARTUP.bat confighostagent

Once this done, open the browser make sure to use updated chrome or firefox and open the url that you get from the above command.

This has resolved the issue.

Hi Rosy,

Download the JCE policy zip file from SAP as described in SAP Note 1240081, 1238121.

did you configure environment JAVA_HOME ? Also did you install the latest version of Java ?

please kill the all sapinst.exee and java.exe and try again

I did that but same issue.

Just noted one thing when i am trying to start gui from \sdt\exe, It starts the gui but with warning message

This Script is obsolete, please consult documentation for Current Gui Startup.

Also when i am trying to use DSUgui, it shows me below error

"SDT GUI is no longer  supported",

am completely stuck now

Dear Rosy,

What is your target upgrade version ? If it is not NW 7.5 use the SUM 1.4 version. It seems lots of bug at SUM 1.6.
