RFC failed after SAP system rename with new Virtualhostname

Hello

After sap system rename via SWPM tool for setup Virtualhsotname to ABAP system, RFC ABAP to the virtual host name failed.

RFC ABAP hostname from OS level => OK

RFC ABAP virtualhsotname for SAP => NOK

Erreur connexion

Error when opening an RFC connection (CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPOCMINIT' : cmRc=27 thRc=2

ERROR: timeout during allocate

LOCATION: SAP-Gateway on host xxlocal_systemxxx / sapgw00

DETAIL: no connect of TP sapdp00 from host xx_virtual_hostnamexx after 20 sec

Hello Eric,

How is the destination defined?

Is it set for load balance usage?

If not, I assume it is set to the virtual hostname and system 00 (based on the error entries posted at the opening of this thread).

Are the "gateway options" defined? If yes, to what hostname and service?

Yes, name resolution provided by DNS and resolution is correct.

Hi Eric,

The problem is mostly related to the name resolution from RFC client side. Please test the ping virtual_hostname from RFC client OS level.

Aswell check if the settings are maintained correctly.
