Printing HR Forms in arial font

Former Member

Hi

I am trying to print out an HR Form using the arial font.

I have created a new format via SPAD, we are using HP Laserjets.

It appears that these use the drivers built into the SAP kernel.

How do I tell a form to print out using the arial font?

The printers have the arial font installed.

Do I have to enter the control characters into the format settings?

Any help would be great.

Regards

Matt

The HR forms do not appear under SMARTFORMS either unfortunately.

The only other place I can think of is PBWW...

But this opens the documents in an external application!

Hi All

Thanks for all the responses, I am still struggling to setup the printer control characters for arial on a HP LJ4100. Has anybody done this before and has set it up already.

Answers will be rewarded.

Thanks Again

Thanks Ruchit

The form that I am trying to work with is an HR Form created through PE51.

Unfortunatley these forms do not appear under se71.

Thanks

Try SMARTFORMS

Hi Matt,

I dont know if you can use either SAP scripts or SMARTFORM. But if there is a choice I guess you should go for them. Infacr SMARTFROM is better option as also suggested by Barry.

May be you can try this thing out. You can remove all other fonts in copied Z device type you have created and jst keep ARIAL. Then I guess printing will onlyy happen with ARIAL font. Weird suggestion but I guess it is worth trying since after all you are changing a test device type only.

Will try to see if there is a better solution available.

Thanks for the quick responses

Once I have the font installed, how do I tell the format to use it?

Thanks

hello Matt,

With the form you will specify both the format as well as the form. Check in SE71.

Then of course the format as well the font both will be linked to device type which in turn will be linked to printer.

Format and font have no direct relationship per se.

Hi Matt,

First of all i dont know if you have arial font in your system. If not theen you need to install it using SE73 transaction. That means you need a .tiff file for this.

Next you need to attach the font to a device type. For this check out the link:

For that you need to use both SPAD as well SE73.
