Hi,

I am unable to upload zip folder more than 99 MB to cFolders.

Is there any file size limitation?

Does it allow to upload 5GB zip folder by tuning any settings server/client side?

Regards,

Shiva

Hi,

there are a few restrictions that must be taken into account when using the document applet:

- the RAM of the client (PC) from where the document is uploaded (the file will be uploaded into the   RAM),

- the JRE - it has no access to the full RAM of the client,

- the parameter values of the JRE.

Generally, the upload size of documents depend on your local resources. Within cFolders, when you use the document applet (indicator 'Plug-In' is set in the user settings), the files can have about 35MB, because this JAVA applet wasn't designed for files bigger than that. However, with note 940461 a solution is provided to increase the data volume up to about 80MB. You need to test if the JVM works as normal after you changed the size parameter and restarted the browser. If an error occurs after you set this parameter, you must reduce the figure again until you enter a size with which the JVM can run without errors.

However, the upload of a document with e.g. 1GB will not work using the document applet. Please turn off the plug-in in the user settings and test the upload without the applet. Without the applet, the size of the object is contingent on the RAM of the application server. Please test what maximum file size can be uploaded in your system environment.

There is also another parameter described in note 1266295 (e.g. icm/HTTP/max_request_size_KB) but it cannot be guaranteed that this will work. Again, the increase of the parameters also depends on your hardware settings, therefore, please note that the increased maximum for the memory usage may affect other programs that run on the application server at the same time. So if you encounter any error after increasing the memory, you must reduce the figure again until you enter a size with which the system runs without errors.

Finally, the upload performance will depend on the hardware you use and on the number of concurrent users on the system.

Silvia

Hello,

yes, there is a limitation, i think its 75MB.

please have a look at SAP Note 1266295. There a profile-parameters for increasing the possible maximum size. In our system we can upload files with 500MB.

I think 5GB will be to much.

Best Regards
