I have updated HANA Studio to 2.2.9 (see below) and got a slew of new problems.
Related to this post I still cannot open said calculation view, but now get a different error message
Same thing also happens when I attmept to open ' ...analyticalview' objects, but not for ' .... attributeview' objects or procedures.

Thanks for your answer.
I happens when I attempt to open calc or analytical views with the 'SAP HANA View Editor' (default). With the normal text editor the XML-code is displayed OK.
With colleagues having performed the same upgrade it works well.
We are all using HS in a virtual desktop (Citrix) environment.
I will open the incident ASAP.
Mine is a display problem and its for calculation views only, so I have tried with your discussion of the 12th April (associated editors) as this sounds the problem, without progress.
I have reinstalled HANA Studio and I can display the Calculation Views before I add on the ABAP/BW dev tools. As soon as I add on the ABAP/BW dev tools I get the same problem again. So I might have to start installing the Mars HANA Studio and not the one I got from the servicemarketplace. Maybe that version will be compatible with the ABAP/BW dev tools.

Since Monday this week analytical views are suddenly working (I do not know why and I did not change anything wittingly) BUT I just tried to create an SQL script calc view and get the same problem (note: graphical calc views are working).
I looked at note 2295376 but it is not relevant in this case.
I seem to have found a work around: if I close and re-open HANA Studio and then - before doing anything else - create the new object, then it works 🙂 ... at least for now!
Please check the following in HANA Studio:
Windows -> Preferences -> General -> Editors -> File associations -> Check for .sql and confirm that you still have SAP HANA SQL console (as default) and SQL Editors / Query builder etc in the associated editors.
If they are not there, please add them.
This is just one of the possibilities, but worth trying.

Ravi

I did as you suggested and it did not fix the issue. I have tried various editors and they all produce the XML view which is tedious to work with.
Interestingly I found that there are two entries 'SAP HANA View Editor'.
The first one (marked 'default') is the one which used to worl, but no more. The second one works like all other editors and opens an XML-view.
