Out of Memory Dumps

Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between these dumps?

SYSTEM_NO_ROLL

TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED - Mostly to do with adding new lines to internal tables, am I right?

MEM_ALLOC_FAILED

Hello Jowin,

• SYSTEM_NO_ROLL -> there is no roll memory available anymore.
  Observation: As of NW 7.4 there is no roll area anymore. Everything that was previously stored at the roll area is now stored at the Extended Memory. Thus, it means that the Extended Memory was exhausted;
• TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED -> correct!
• MEM_ALLOC_FAILED: I don't recall seeing this before...

Hi Jowin,

When having a memory related dump, normally the most useful information can be found on the affected work process trace file. It can be seen on the dump itself, section System environment:

Application server... "xxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

Work process number.. <nr>

I've seen previously some MEM_ALLOC_FAILED dumps related to shortage on 'ztta/max_memreq_MB' parameter.
