SSL mandatory, what to do?

Hello,

To put things simple - I try to make a test upgrade on an ERP system.

I used MOPZ in SolMan, and now follow the SUM guide:

1. it says I have to configure SSL in SAP host agent

2. I reach a step "Send the certificate signing request to an appropriate CA."

How can I proceed furhter? If I try SAP /tcs it asks for 260 euro, and no demo certificates allowed !!???

So - it seems I have to pay money for a server certificate in order to make an upgrade!?????

Please advise

Regards

Ilian

Hi Ilian,

Just to add more information on what Isaías told you:

If you have a Windows Server, then you can follow this documentation.

For OpenSSL, you can use this SCN document.

And, for what you need to do, you actually don't need to sign a certificate request. As far as I know, you can use the self-signed certificates (just configure the SSL per SAP note 510007).

Cris

Hi Cristiano, Isaías

Thank you very much for the answers.

I guess I will go with the OpenSSL, because we use Linux.

Best regards

Hello Ilian,

You can always use an internal CA .

Windows Server Editions have the CA role that can be added/installed.

You can also use other (free) tools, like openssl.
