John, Sathies, or whichever (I've seen you sign your name different ways),

From the questions you've posted to this forum in the past couple hours, I can only be led to question whether you have anyone with actual DBA or Basis experience on your team. These are extremely broad questions:

  • How do I manage SQL Server on SAP? (please share (copyrighted) documents)
  • How do I setup Disaster Recovery on SQL Server?
  • How do I do a system refresh on SQL Server?

Really? There are system copy guides galore on support.sap.com or service.sap.com; I suggest you start by downloading those. There are reams of documents all over the web about best practices for managing SQL Server, and for managing SAP systems on SQL Server -- I've written a couple of them myself right here on SCN. A simple search should dig them up. And disaster recovery? That's a very broad topic, and there's no one cut-and-dried setup -- it takes careful planning.

In past years I see similarly broad questions from you: How do I upgrade Oracle?, or How do I migrate to new hardware?

Basically, you're in the habit of asking for end-to-end step-by-step how-to guides, and that is highly frowned upon here. It's otherwise known as "Please do my job for me," and we aren't here to do that. We're here to help people with particular issues when they show a willingness to do their own work and just need assistance getting over a hump. We're not here to cover for your lack of qualifications so you can get paid by an unsuspecting customer for our free consulting.

I apologize for coming down a bit hard here, but you do need to step up and show that you're willing to roll up your own sleeves to get the job done. I would start by going to and from there reading everything under User Behavior Guidelines, especially . Then I would look for the documentation required at http://service.sap.com/instguides and http://help.sap.com. Finally I would check out http://training.sap.com and http://open.sap.com to find training for the work you are trying to do (some of it is online and self-paced, and some of it is even free).

Best regards,

Matt
