No print out at Barcode printer

Hi All,

We're having TOSHIBA B-EX4T1 (305 dpi) barcode printer. And the issue is that we're not able to get anything from SAP printed on the printer.

The printer able to print "test print" from server level or from word documents. For your info, we have tried to re- upload the label printers device type as per sapnote 1103422 (TTLZBI12, TTLZBI13 and TTLZB16), but still issues.

We have even tested using C: and U: access method, both are not working. Nothing came out from the printer. We have enable the log, and we can see the following as per attached notepad file.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Hello Ahmad,

as I could see in your attachment, a Zebra source code will be sent to the printer.

And that's the problem: in the Toshiba webpage I can't find whether TOSHIBA B-EX4T1 can interpret Zebra code:

https://www.toshibatec.eu/products/barcode-systems/b-ex4t1/

But the Document on this page states that ZPLII emulation is available for this printer.

This corresponds to the description of SAP Note #1135105 - "Printer Vendor Wizard Note: Toshiba TEC":

Label Printers

The device types listed below can be used to convert a label created using Smart Forms into the ZPL II printer control language and to print it on the Z-Mode enabled Toshiba TEC label printers.

This means:

  • check the printer manual how the Z-mode can be enabled on your printer
  • fully read the description of SAP Note #1135105 for the prerequisites to print labels on Toshiba label printers with Zebra language
  • after you have done everything and the Basis and OS administrator confirms too that you have (fully) done all required steps yet the printer still doesn't print, then there is a small chance that the printer is broken. Ask the manufacturer for a check-up.

Both in the last case and "anyway", you can test the SAPWIN-Device Types. Then the printer needs to be connected to a Windows printing environment, and only Access Method G (front-end printing) or Access Method S (remote server-based printing with the SAPSPrint program) can be used.

Best regards,

Laszlo
