Different Materials in same Carton Box size in one storage Bin

  Dear Experts,

I have started learning Warehouse Management, I have a scenario for which I need inputs from you..

Scenario..

Materials A and B  packed in Carton Box 1.  During put away ,Carton Box 1 will be received in pallet 1 or Pallet 2

Material C is packed in Carton Box 2...  During put away, Carton Box 2 can be stored in Pallet 1 or Pallet 2...

Requirements are...

Pallet 1 and Pallet 2 can be stored in same storage bin...

Pallet 1 and Pallet 2  may contain carton box 1 or carton box 2...  but 1 pallet should have one carton box type at one time...

That means material A and B will be stored in one Pallet as they belong to same carton type.. But Material C should not be allowed in that pallet during put away...  but Material A and B will be continuously allowed in the same pallet if capacity is available...

What type of strategy should I use to restrict different type of Carton boxes in same pallet at a time...

Hello Rajasekar,

I assume you labeled cartons, as you wrote carton 1 and carton 2. These carton numbers represent a HU, a different HU type from pallets. Let's say HU type = E2.

You labeled pallet 1 and 2, let's say these HU's have HU type = E1.

Now you need a strategy;

- Define in packaging material type: can have more than one layer( this can be B or C, choose which applies)

- Make assignments to HU types.

- Delete existing HU's and create new HU's.

- Define in storage type, bin can handle more than one HU, allow mixed storage.

- First try to putaway to same bin manually. If this works, your HU & storage type customizing is ok.

- Make adjustments at putaway strategy to have it directed to same bin automatically.

Hi

Have you gone through pallet strategy?

Here we do bin section and based on bin section we can have pallet types.

It is also possible that in a single storage bin , we can have pallet P1 as well as P2.

Hi,

I read through the document, I had done the settings and defined storage unit types 001 and 002.. During put away,  system assigns 001 to Bin Section 1 and 002 to Bin section 2 in same storage Bin...

But real problem is during second put away for storage unit type 002, system Proposes bin section 1 which already has Storage unit type 001 which should not be allowed.. I made blank for Mixed storage also in storage type settings, but what happens is it is restricting different materials in one bin section not different storage unit types..

Because User will store  different materials in one storage unit types not different storage unit type in One bin section.

My requirement is system should restrict two different storage unit types in one bin section..

Please help....
