Not Able to Activate Business System in ID

Hi Experts,

I have Created a Business System(BS_1) from 1 ECC Technical System(ABC) in SLD and imported in ID and created a IDoc to Soap Scenario and it is working fine. Now We created a Business System(BS_2) from 2nd ECC Technical System(XYZ). Both Technical Systems have Same Logical System Name(SYS_PROD), Same System ID(S11), Same Client(100).

After importing the 2nd Business System(BS_2) and when activating the business system(BS_2) we are getting error as Logical System(SYS_PROD) already exists in 1st Business System(BS_1), System ID(S11) and Client(100) already exists in 1st Business System(BS_1).

Since it is a Production System, the Customer wont be able to change the Logical System Name and System ID. Please suggest any Solution on how to activate the Business System. Both the Technical Systems have different IP.

Hi karthik,

You cannot have same logical name for two business systems because how will the SAP system understand which system the message was sent for??

PI does not accept more than one business system with the same logical system name.

1. Create a business system with this logical system

2. Overwrite sender/receiver business system in the receiver agreement for messages sent to 2nd business system..

Try this may help to resolve the issue.

Hi Tomar,

Both Business Systems have different Scenarios, both Business systems are used as Sender IDoc Channels.

Hi Karthik,

It is not recommended but i just want to show you how to change the logical system name in SLD. When you open the technical system in SLD, click on clients tab there you can see the logical systems for each client, you can change it there if you want.

Hi All,

Thank you for your time and replies. Both business systems are different with different IP. Both Business Systems have different Technical systems. That too as we were using sender Idoc channel, Business System was necessary. We raised an incident to SAP. They told as per SAP standard 2 systems with same logical name is not recommended and solution was to change logical system name of one of the ECC systems. But changing the logical system at either of the customer side was difficult as both were production ECC systems.

You should import the business system only one time, and later add to other scenarios, NOT to copy, only to add.

Also make sure logical systems are different.

If it is same change the same in the SLD

We couldn't change the logical system name. It was not editable.

Hello Karthik,

You can't change @ ID.

It should be done @ SLD.

Once you change it refersh it ID,check new LS has been updated.save it and activate.
