Printer- Output device unavailable

I have printer attached to user A. User A  is able to print successfully on PRD System however he is getting “Output device unavailable” while printing on QAS . The Printer setting is identical for both systems. Note- Printer is not working for any user in QAS.

Please advise.

hi sury,

Please first check the setting of both printer which should be same.

Right click on required printer on window and make printer as Default printer. Please try now and if you still getting issue then check below link.

Hi Sury,

You will receive the error if

1. Front-end printer is used in a background job with 'Print Immediately' set.

2. Front-end print is only possible when the SAPGUI connection is available.

3. Front-end printing is not possible when the request was created in a scenario where an RFC to another server was done. Please use a backend Access Method.

4. Users should close at least one mode and output the request from transaction SP01 via Utilities -> Restart Front-end Printing.

Hi Sury.

1. Could you check the output device setting on both systems using transaction SPAD?.(not user setting)

2. Check the user A authorization on both system?
