SP Upgrade on distributed environment

Hi All,

There is a BO environment, distributed on 3 servers with AIX as the OS:

1) Tomcat

2) CMS and other services

3) Explorer

So its clear that while upgrading i'll have to run the BO SP on CMS machine and same version of Explorer SP on explorer machine.

However, I am not clear how do i upgrade tomcat server

1) Will i have to run the BO setup on tomcat server as well?

2) Manually deploy upgraded WAR files?

Any suggestion here will be helpful.

Hi Nagendra,

Yes, you would have to execute the upgrade setup on tomcat server.

WAR files would be deployed by the installer itself.

Take a backup of Tomcat\webapps folder if you have customizations made for tomcat.

CMS server and then the tomcat server?

Yes, below should be the sequence :

1)CMS server

2)Tomcat

3)Explorer server

After the upgrade of CMS and Tomcat server, login to the CMC and check whether all servers are in Running status and then upgrade Explorer.

You will also need to run the Explorer install on the Tomcat server in order to upgrade the Explorer web applications.
