Does SAP support in-place SQL upgrade from 2012 to 2014? Current SQL 2012 is setup as always-on cluster.
Hi Rakesh,
The Inplace upgrade of SQL Server has to respect the SAP Release Planning for SQL Server.
In case of SQL Server 2014, you have to check SAP Note 196681.
Check out for the Database Upgrade and Installation Guides for SQL Server 2014 in http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/012002523100004097412015E/sql2014_upgrade1.pdf
For a detailed aspect of the SQL Server upgrade with AlwaysOn, Books Online offer a detailed information:
Upgrade and Update of Availability Group Servers with Minimal Downtime and Data Loss
I hope this complements Cherry and S Sriram.
