Stand-alone ITS 6.20 is incompatible with kernel 7.00
Thank you!

Hi,
I would like to point out that Tobias is right here. A standalone ITS 6.20 that is configured correctly has a perfectly working ADMIN service on its own.
So as far as the ADMIN service is concerned there is no compatibility issue at all because no communication with any kind of backend is needed for that. There is no relation between the ADMIN service and a 7.00 kernel at all.
Best regards,
Henning
No we using the default port number for both the instances.

Hi,
several instances of ITS 6.20 have to be mapped either to
a) different TCP/IP ports or
b) if the same TCP/IP port should be used they have to have an individual hostname.
These settings have to be defined correctly in ItsRegistryWGATE.xml.
Please have a look at this thread for further information:
You could also search within this forum for the keyword "ItsRegistryWGATE.xml" or do a SAP Notes search to get more information.
Also please read the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/44/211cc811f21a74e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm">ITS Administrator's Guide</a>

HI Subramanya,
We are in the same situation as you and are facing the same problem as you have faced. Please let me know if you have been able to resolve your issue and if yes let me have the steps taken by you to resolve this. Have you logged this issue with SAP OSS and if yes what is their response.

Hi Subramanya,
I do not understand this issue, I am surprised that the service
tries to connect to a back end system. For this reason I wanted
to make sure, that the xgateway sapxgadm is used...
Are you sure that you accessed the correct ITS instance?
Seems to be another one which does not have a service 'admin'
and tries to start a transaction named 'ADMIN' in the system
specified in global.srvc.
In order to exclude this please make sure that only one ITS instance
is running on the server.
best regards
Tobias
Hi
First let me make clear all the things one by one.
Operating System : Windows 2003 Server
SAP system version : SAP ECC 6.0
ITS version : SAP ITS 6.20
Instance names : IT1 & ADM
SAP GUI Version : SAP GUI 6.40, Patch 24
Webserver : Microsoft Internet Information server.
IP address: 53.248.10.19
Single host installation. Both Agate & Wgate reside on the same host.
I have installed all the above softwares. Also I have created 2 Instances:
IT1
ADM for administration
The problem is when I try to open the admin service using the above mentioned URL. I see the SAP Login page but when I enter username & password I get the error message.
Regards,
Subramanya
Hi Subramanya,
The login page for the admin service looks different compared to login pages of ordinary ITS services. In particular when executing the admin service the login screen should contain the words "ITS Administration" and "Administration Login".
I would like to ask you if you see this special login page when executing the admin service?
Best regards
Henning
P.S.: There is no need to provide your IP address. We don't need to know your IP address to help you. Security wise it would be best if you would delete the IP address from all your postings here.
Well,
normally it is exactly the URL you have already used:
http://yourhost/scripts/wgate/admin/!

Yeah, I am talking about admin instance. We are implementing external ITS.

Hi Subramanya,
this error does usually occur when you are trying to connect to a back end system
seems based on WebAS 7.00. I do not know the admin service, do you mean to say
that you are trying to connect to an ITS admin instance?
Anyway, with the integrated ITS you must use to connect to such a back end there
is no admin instance available.
regards
Tobias
