PI Connection - Roles and Auths

Hello

We have an interface where the external party communicates with PI using HTTP in VPN.

When they try to send messages , it seems to ask for connection user credential,.

Can you advise whether it is safe to create a copy of PIAPPLUSER for them or is there any similar roles and auths that we need to create?

Please advise.

Hello Sam,

For external connections create a communication user and assingn the required roles for communication from PI.

Your security team should help you on this.

Hello Sam,

You can just clone any super user or user and assign only the roles as in the link provided by the Praveen.

Under security policy, do i need to put technical user or internet service user.

If i choose internet service user, it automatically disables the password.

Go to home page of netweaver adming using the below link.

http:Host/port/startPage

Select user management and you can create roles/users over there
