Field value reappear even after deleting it from MDG Screen

Hi All,

I am trying to create a customer from MDG, but getting an strange issue for Industry field of control data block.

Once the value is entered on Industry field we are not able to delete that value / make it blank. Even if we remove the value from field and press enter the old value reappear on screen but the background check fails and we get the field validation error message as we get for empty field.

Please check if you have properly configured BP - Industry? You need to map the BP industry with ECC industry.

Hello Kiran,

We have mapped Industry field correctly to ECC industry field. When we select industry value from F4 help the value is properly updated on ECC industry field, but after we select the value we are not able to delete the value/not able to make it blank.

Hello Manikandan,

This issue might be related to the generic field mapping from UI structures to the MDG structures and vice versa.

See similar issue for the "Language" field within the Address UI block which is addressed by the SAP note below:

1870383 - MDG-BP/C/S: Field value of Address Language disappears

You could try reactivating the MDG data model and/or generate the Data model specific structures from the MDGIMG transaction.

If the issue still persists you need to raise an OSS incident as this could be a programming bug.
