How to assign serial number for one material when create inspection lot manually?

Hi,Gurus,

I want to create one inspection lot for one material with serial number when create inspection lot manually? My question is I cant add the serial number ,can anyone tell me ?Many thanks!

Hi Zhao,

In above case serial number control will be enabled only if the mentioned part number / material number is with serial number profile. Check for the same in General Plant data tab in Material master.

Check for SPRO path → Plant Maintenance & Customer service → Master data in Plant Maintenance → Technical objects → Serial number management → Define Serial number profiles.

If serial number profile is available extend the same to Material master. Check for inspection type to be enabled for the same.

Hi Zhao,

Have you assigned inspection type 04 in inspection type of QM view in Material master?

In case if production lot is confirmed in system and user need to take usage decision then assign 04 inspection type to Material Master for the plant.
