Content Services for SAP (CS SAP)

Hi All,

I have a requirement to install Content Service for SAP ,I have gone through the several  documents ,but still I am having some confusion ,that is the reason I am opening this discussion ,Kindly advise your valuable suggestions on this.

We are already having existing ECC system ,need to configure content services for SAP .

Below are my doubts

1) Can we install Content server our existing ECC system box.

2) Where can we download the content server software

3) Installation procedure

Can any one guide me suitable documentation or ideas or steps to achieve this.

1) Can we install Content server our existing ECC system box.

Yes, It possible, but try to install separate system along with Maxdb, because it stores the documents,pictures, & video's files, trimly it may required more disk space based on your usage.

2) Where can we download the content server software 

3) Installation procedure

Hi

To my understanding it is Content Server which can install on Windows,Unix, Linux,  and store the all types of documents,pictures and video files.

Check the PAM link (Required SAP S-user id)

Yes , i am also same,content server and content service or same.

we can install any like unix,windows ,but database must be MAX DB right?

Hi Team.

It is Content Server in that you can find the content server service in Windows OS. Yes Max DB used for storing the EMC documents. refer the SAP Note 1983930 - Availability of SAP Content Server 6.50

Really thanks Sriram for your response.

Final conclusion,If I am wrong correct me below points:

1) Content service (CS SAP) is a service of Content server (after installation service will be created in windows called CONTENT SERVER SAP(CA SAP).

2) Content server will be installed any flavor example UNIX, WINDOWS but database must be MAX DB

3) After installation of content server we need to integrate both ECC and Content server

4) Apart from integration there is no  add-on is not required in ECC side.

Correct me if I am wrong anything ,if required add anything

Hi

Point number 2 if your are selecting the Content Server version 6.5 required Max db.

Other points are correct.

Point number 2 -we are in ECC EHP4 -you mean above 6.5 it will support any other databases also?

SAP Content server version 6.50 required Max DB, other db will not support.
